We took our first extended trip in our new Tour a couple weeks ago and thought I would report. The short story is that the coach is fantastic. Lots of room, drives great and is a pleasure to use (this is compared to our 2004 Meridian).

Some pleasant surprises:
Great MPG -- I averaged over 10MPG running between 55 and 60 (this was in level Florida while towing a 3,500 pound car and loaded for fulltime living)
Very quiet driving -- the engine is much quieter that the Meridian
We love the large holding tanks (we were at a Winnie Rally)
The quality is there! Very few issues and all quite minor. Everything just worked well!
The basement A/C is even better than on our Meridian -- and we thought that was great.

Thanks Winnebago for a great coach.

Glad to hear such a good report on fuel mileage. We really like the Vectra/Tour TD model. Like the Vectra best though. Would have one, but our closest dealer decided he did not want another trade in on the lot. It took 6 weeks for us to decide we would go for it. Kinda of glad now we didn't since our stocks have gone south.

Would still like to get one.

Glad to hear such a great report on a new coach. We had the opportunity to spend some time in a new Tour while at the dealer for some minor warranty work on our Meridian. All you could say is WOW!

Great good luck with the new coach.

10 mpg...that's phenomenal! We have been averaging around 6 mpg now for the first 10,000 miles in our Tour towing a CRV. I thought that was good. Maybe with a little more road time we will get up to the 10 mpg range, who knows? Congratulations on your new coach...we love our Tour also.

I would LOVE to get 10 mpg....my Vectra with 15K miles is averaging around 7.0 miles per gallon towing my Jeep Liberty.

8.1 mpg is absolute tops for my V-10 towing. 99%of the time it stays between 7.0 & 7.5 mpg and that is in the 60 mph range. I drool over 10 mpg.

Rick;

Thanks for the report. Congratulations on your new Tour. It is great to hear such positive feed back. It is also great to hear your MPG report especially with fuel prices today.

I was delighted with the 10 mpg. When we traded the Meridian (I got about 8 to 8.5 with it), I was not sure that the new Tour would do as well. I was told that the new Cummins had a clutch fan system that would yield an extra 1 to 1.5 mpg. I was also told that the new engine system would be more efficient.

Amazingly enough, it sounds as if everything I was told was true! Anyway, we are delighted with the mileage and the drivability of the coach.

Great news, Rick. I've come close to that in our Vectra. The weight of my foot can be a problem.
