Looked at lots of TV installs, changing the CRT for LCD, so decided to do mine.
Be replacing the existing 20 in GE, CRT with a Samsung 23 in LCD wide screen. Need some suggestions from those who have done this in a Corner Cabinet configuration.Have seen the center cabinet and they look great. Have a couple pictures of what the "underhang" looks like and a photo the shows an outline of where the new TV will fit in the existing TV area. Need suggestions on securing the TV and trimming it so it looks nice. Like the big hole the removal of the "underhang" will cause.
Here is what it looks like now Existing Here is the "underhang" Underhang and here it is with the measurementsMeasurements The red rectangle represents the LCD TV. Suggestions are welcome. I have had the front trim off once, but don't remember what I saw behind it, I was more concerned about stopping the noise the trim made as I drove down the road. Promise to take lots of pictures as I do this so the documentation will help the next person. - Sorry for the edits, could not figure out the best way to do the pictures.

mickey53usa,

You are getting a lot of reads, but no help! I have a thread going about replacing mine, but you have done a lot more homework than I have done. It looks to me like you have yours figured out. Fit-wise it looks like it's going to go in great. The only thing I would be concerned with is how to cover up the bottom. It doesn't look like the plastic piece for the underhang is going to cover. It looks like the Oak finish would be easy to match, if you are handy with wood, and built an enclosure. You would still be a lot less weight than what's there, now!

Will keep you posted. I am putting in a Samsung mdl LNT2353H 23 inch. I have removed all of the trim and the original shelf. Will start construction of brackets this weekend to mount the new TV.
Have directions on how to remove the existing if you need them.

Here is a link TV Install to what I have done so far and what I am planning to do. After just looking at another post, I may change my plans - will update the page as I make changes.

Well, for the most part I have finally completed the project. I have updated the web page TV Install Now just a few clean-up items - will update with the bottom cover when I get that done.

Wonderful documentation of the job, thanks!

A suggestion -- could you upload it to the IRV2 website. I say this because some really good stuff has been lost when interests change, websites change or stuff just gets lost somehow.

There was some stuff that I was really interested in on a personal photo web site that was just gone.

Thanks,

Michael Thanks for the update. I almost forgot about this post. We just got home from our 8 month trip and this is something I will want to do later. I have some other things to take care of first.

thanks Don ( Tcloud)
