Slide wire between motor and in/out switch

'14 Journey 42E bedroom slide has Lippert dual motor.

It has two wires that determine direction as directed by the switch on the control panel. Only one side works. We have done everything except replace the wire between the motor and the control panel switch. The number of bundled wires behind that panel is daunting, at the very least!

A Lippert tech checked the motor, it's fine. We replaced the control panel switch, just in case. Nothing has resolved the problem.

We have an interim fix, an inline switch just outside the motor, under the bed. It doesn't save me from having to get down on the floor to flip the switch but it does save me from pulling and reversing wires on the motor!

Has anyone encountered this issue and is there a "simple" fix? Other than taking it in.

Thanks, in advance
