Side marker lights, Journey

I recently got new LED side marker lights for my coach and just noticed that my OEM lights are set up as follows:

Front Amber
Middle Red
Rear Amber

I admit I've not paid attention to other rigs but it would seem to me the red would be on the rear side of the coach. I wonder if the guys who painted my coach 2 years ago just put the lens back on that way. It is that way on both sides.

I agree.

smlranger, what model LED lights did you use for your side marker lights? I know the sides are different than the front/rears. I'm thinking of the same project.

Don, I got the LED lights from O'Reilly's. Same size, shape lens as the OEM's on the coach except LED.

Optronics® MCL44ABP - LED Marker/Clearance Light | O'Reilly Auto Parts

All of mine are the same except the front side markers blink with turn signals.

Side Marker lights problem! 03 Journey, recently my side marker lights began to blink randomly, at irregular intervals, sometimes once every 10 - 15 seconds, but always randomly. This coincided with the electric door lock locking by itself. I removed the door lock relays so as to not get locked out. Buy the side marker lights still blink. I can hear a relay in front of the instrument panel click when the lights blink. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this? Is this chassis wiring or coach wiring? I had to disconnect the batteries in order to make this stop.

Maybe it is related to ICC switch and relays

sml,
Not that there's a Highway Patrol waiting out in front of your street, waiting for you to pull out so he/she can cite you for being "Illegal" on incorrect light color/application/position.

You see, by law, anything forward of the rear axle is supposed to be AMBER, anything after, RED. This includes powered vehicles and trailers. So, I think you may have guessed right, they were just installed incorrectly at one time.

I was troubleshooting why my electric door lock would not work and discovered two sets of metal buttons on the hinge-side/edge of the door, two are on the door and two are on the door sill, placed so they match-up perfectly when the door is closed. Wondering what they controlled, I used a Scotch pad to remove the corrosion. WaLa! The electric door lock began working properly and I could plainly hear a solenoid click under the dash.
