Serpentine belt for a 2006 Itasca meridian 36g 350 cat
I would like to purchase a spare serpentine belt for my 350 cat. I have low miles but it's 10 years old and I travel the alaska highway in the summer. The cat dealer couldn't help me so I'm wondering if anyone out there with a 350 cat has been able to get the part number?

Hawaii Dick, Call freightliner at the number below and they will give you the part # of the belt for your cat 350. They can also ship you the correct belt.

The best way for getting a spare is to take the number off your current belt. You know that is the correct one. I have a C-9 and there are three belts that are designed for that engine, (maybe more). Different configurations I guess. I keep the numbers in my service manual.

The 350HP Cat C7 in my 2005 Vectra uses Freightliner part number 01-24730-004 (Belt-Ribbed, 8 Rib, 1813 mm), according to the AccessFreightliner info for my coach. Here's an offer of $42.95 w/free shipping for it on ebay: NEW Freightliner Engine Serpentine Belt 01-24730-004 8PK1813. I don't know how that compares to the price at your local Freightliner or other sources.
I would recommend checking with Freightliner (They'll need the last 6 of your VIN) to confirm that's the correct belt for your setup.

For the serpentine:
Freightliner#-0124730004
Gates#-KO80716HD
Napa#-25-080716HD
You also have a water pump belt:
Cat#-036-6775
Gates#-9341HD
Napa#-25-9341-HD
When I changed my belts, the wp belt was in bad shape while the serpentine looked good...This was at 50,000 miles...If yours are 10 years old it's time....

Thanks everyone, I didn't think to go to Freightliner. I can travel with peace of mind now.

Freightliner can find the part number if you take the chassis serial number in. You need that to find hoses and alike.

Hello: I have been away for a while and not posted anything because we were without a motorhome for a while and desparately looking for another. I have come upon a 2005 vectra 36 RD with a 350 cat. and was wondering if there are any issues with this model mechanically or coach wise. we live in Montreal Canada and will be able to see this coach in about 2 weeks when the campground where it is stored will open. would appreciate any input as to what to look for. Thanks

We've certainly enjoyed ours which we custom ordered in December 2004--picked it up at the end of February, 2005. I haven't seen a model I like better since!

We've had our Itasca meridian 36g for a little over a year now. Drove from Portland Oregon to Alaska and back last summer and are planning on doing it again this summer. The coach drives really nice, is quiet and handles well. The Freightliner-cat combination is great and fuel consumption towing our Wrangler is good, about 8 mpg. No complaints or issues.
