Scangauge D?

We have a new 2017 Journey 42E. I am curious if there is a value to adding the Scangauge D, or can I do most of the same things with the on board diagnostics. PPL in Houston has a good price of $139 if needed.

Any input will be greatly apprecited.

I have a Scanguage D but our coach is older and I have no clue what your on board diagnostics will do. We do use ours all the time.

Well yes, but I'm sure your unit has a lot more electronic monitoring than ours does.

I have a 2009 Journey. The Scangauge provides monitoring of parameters not available on the dash such as transmission temperature as well as recording trouble codes. The Freightliner dash LBCU will record solid trouble codes but not before a code is solid. My experience is that the code will be recorded in the Scangauge sooner. I had indications of a turbo trouble on the Scangauge 5 weeks before my engine warranty was to expire and took it to a Cummins dealer and it was replaced. It was not recorded in the LBCU.That saved me $$$ so it is an invaluable tool and worth the cost.
