removing jack knife sofa

I have a 2015 Meridian 36M and want to replace the jack knife sofa. There is a heater duct coming out the end of the sofa. Has anyone removed one. I'm thinking I can just cut the vent back and have it terminate at the kitchen cabinet. I have not pulled it all apart. Has anyone else done this. Any unforeseen issues with removing the sofa?
