Remote Entry '14 Itasca Meridian 34B

Hi,

I'm new to the forum and did a search, but couldn't find anything on locating the Trimark controller on my motorhome; I need to reprogram the remote entry fobs.

I have a 2014 Itasca Meridian 34B and according to the owner manual it was supposed to be behind the magazine rack by the passenger seat. There was some sort of device there, but it did not match any of the descriptions from Trimark or my manual. It referenced motor sensor so maybe the door step?

Anyway, if someone on here has any idea where I can locate the controller I'd appreciate hearing from you.

Thanks in advance.

If your 34B (Serial Number begins with 70P82R1) page 2 of the Front End Wiring Installation diagram shows the Keyless Entry Module under the dash above the driver's left foot.

If your 34B (Serial Number begins with 70P82R2) page 5 of the Body, 12 Volt Wiring Installation diagram shows the TriMark Keyless Entry Module in the enclosure next to the passenger seat.

Thanks Chris, I have an R2 and fully expected the module to be behind the cabinet. I pulled it apart three times thinking I must have missed something.

I also don't see it under the driver side dash as in the R1's. If it is behind the console I haven't figured out how to remove the cover.

Thanks again for your input.

Were you able to remove the magazine rack from the side of the passenger console? Did you find the awning control box that's supposed to be next to the trimark box?

On my 2013 Meridian 42e it was behind the breaker panel in the left front outside compartment. This is where my drawings said it would be, so the drawings seem to be accurate, but just another place to look if you don't find it.

Chris, yes I removed the magazine rack. There is another module in there; possibly the awning module, nothing on it to identify it. That is all that I can see in that cavity. I thought the TriMark box would be there too based on my manual. I'm really leaning to behind the dash/console, but don't know how to remove it.

M42e, Thanks. I looked there after your suggestion and don't see it there either.

Thanks much for the input guys!

Ya, according to this, it should be the awning control

It's behind the magazine rack near passenger seat on my 2014 Journey 36M. My remote door lock was working intermittently and found a new controller on WBGO Amazon. While waiting for it to arrive did some more checking and problem turned out to be misaligned contacts in the door jam. Crappy job at factory....fixed that problem and remote door lock worked fine. Kept the new unopened module as a spare...just in case, which of course will never fail simply because I have the spare.

Uhhhgg. The Journey is essentially the same rig and I'm sure it should be there as pictured by M42e. Regarding the door contacts I noticed that one of mine sticks out further than the rest; possible issue?

Thanks guys,

Fred

That's what was happening with mine Fred. Pulled out the contact plate and it appeared one or more of the wires (which have to move with the contact) was catching on the opening in second cutout (not large enough and misaligned with front opening) and keeping the contact depressed. The rear portion of one or more of the contact assemblies was also jammed up against the edge of the second opening - putting it in a bind. I enlarged the opening and realigned the wiring so no binding and door remote has worked fine since (2016). BTW, the cockeyed openings and second set of attachment screw holes courtesy of WBGO factory installer....

Hope this is all that's wrong with yours, but I also included a couple of pics of the Trimark controller I got from WBGO Amazon.

John

Well shoot - I just reread your original post and noticed you were looking for the Trimark controller location so you could reprogram your key fobs, not because you were having issues. Sorry for the all the unnecessary input above about the door contacts and new controller! BTW, with my door open (lock disengaged), I can hear the controller behind the magazine rack "click" when I hit lock/unlock on my remote.

For general information to everyone, This is where you may download manuals specific to your MH for the Trimark products:E-Ask | TriMark Corporation
The sync button is not visible until the sticker-like cover is removed. I used to have the specific instructions to -resync the fobs, or new fobs to the system but lost them in a 'puter crash.

Thanks guys for the pics and link! I'm not sure what to make of this now. We relocated to another campground last week. As I left someone motioned to me that the step was out. I pulled over and tried the step switch; wouldn't come in. I turned the house and chassis switches and the inverter on and off; still wouldn't come in. I ended up driving on with the step out. Still haven't figured that out, but ever since the key fobs have worked.

Rmedad, Thanks! Your pic and description solved my entry step problem. I pulled the jamb switch and there were only three wires connected of the four contacts. I pulled the door switch and found four wires connected. Looking inside the jamb I saw the loose fourth wire, fished it out and connected it and that solved the entry step problem.

Much appreciated!

I started this thread looking for a solution to a key fob issue. It morphed into a door step problem. I never found the Tri Mark to reset the codes, but I found the solution to the problem. I felt it had to have something to do with the door contacts. I cleaned them with scotchbrite which helped, so I knew I was on the right track. I ended up shimming the jamb switch out with washers to get better contact with the door contacts and that was the key. Everything works now!

Many thanks for the original advice Rmedad!

Glad you got your problem resolved! If you use **Moderator Edit** (I held off forever until the kids finally coerced me onto it about a year ago) would recommend you look at the Winnebago/Itasca Class A Diesel Pushers Owners Group - nice helpful folks.

Ha...I'm still holding out! But my wife is on so I'll get her to check it out.

Thanks for the tip!
