Propane heat questions

Vista 35f
How fast does the propane furnace eat up 18g gas at a weekday storage temperature of 50-60? Okla winters sort of mild, but on occasion we get spells down to the teens.

Plan is one or two long weekends to the Texas Gulf each month and I don't want to dewinterize/rewinterize every 2-3 weeks thru the winter.

Can I plug into a larger external tank?

I don't know that anyone but you, trying it out, can tell you this answer. It's so contingent on your particular weather.

Yes, you can add an adapter and use a large external propane tank.

I'd worry most about potential fire and propane gas leak issue for a heated coach that's being stored.

I was going to ask if a small electric heater could do the trick, but I'd worry about the safety of that as well.

Store it in a covered storage - or store it at the Texas Coast and just drive down in your Toad, take the RV out of storage and use it there. Putting it back in storage there when you are done.

Or split the difference. Store it in San Antonio - outside storage is about $100 a month no contracts needed. Drive to SA and pick it up and drive to the coast about 3 hours away. You'll save enough in fuel for the rv and the heater to pay for the storage.

Storing at the coast may be a salt air issue you might wish to avoid.

Many will just keep an incandescent trouble light running in their wet bay if the winters are usually mild. Even if temps drop a few times into the teens is it all day and night or just for an hour before sunrise with temps then rising to above freezing during the day?

50-60 usually does not consume much propane however constant temps in the teens will and then you'll need and extenda-stay external tank connection.
