New RV, engine size question '05 Winnie Voyage 33v
Hi everyone,
I just joined the forum as we just brought a used 2005 Winnie Voyage 33v. I need to update my info and all plus post on the welcome forum which I will do shortly but I have a question...
How do I tell which size engine I have? The guy said it’s a 494 which is 8.1L but I want to confirm it before I do anything with it. Is there a cheat sheet out there where I can run the VIN or serial number to confirm this?
Many thanks!

Go to the source, Winnebago brochure library https://winnebagoind.com/product-res...ct-information and get a copy of the original brochure

Awesome! Thanks. That is a huge help. I downloaded the document and I think I have the C chassis only because the ID plate says 19.5” rims and that’s the only chassis that matches that rim size which confirms the 8.1L engine size. But, is there a better way to identify the chassis?
Many thanks!

The 8.1 is a 496CI engine. Great choice I feel. First on the list is a Banks Air intake kit, it will improve the air flow by 66% to the engine, takes around 1.5hrs to install, comes with good instructions.

Wow that’s awesome and I will definitely check it out and get one. I do all my own work so that would be a good project. Just drove her 3600 miles to Arizona and back...did great!

You will really like the difference with it, not cheap for sure, around $439, but does come with everything plus a K&N filter. The hardest part is the front snorkel mod.
Seeing as you do it yourself, another great add on is the ECM reprogram and TCM reprogram from Brazels RV Performance, you swap computers with them, just un bolt, send in, get reprogrammed units and install. Priced right. The reprogram 400 parameters on the ECM which will add 60hp and 70ftlbs of torque along with added fuel mileage, it does not take long to recoup the cost after 1 or 2 trips just on the mileage gains and of course the power gain did not hurt my feeling either.

Thanks for the heads up. Since breathing is paramount, would you recommend the Banks first then the programming afterwards?

Brazels recommends the Banks air intake kit with the computer upgrade, they sell the Banks kit as well.
If you look at the air intake system, it is very poorly designed from the factory, I am thinking that kids designed it, they choke it down in about 4 places, look through the LF wheel well, you can see most of the crap design.
