Hi guys,
On our '06 Journey there is a black mystery switch on the dash on the upper right hand side inside the instrument cluster. Does anyone know what this is for? Thanks.

Don't know for sure. Possibly to switch between odometer/tripometer? If so, holding it down would also reset the tripometer.

Kurt and Susan,
I mine that switch is for changing the odometer from Miles to Kilometers and the reverse. It also controls the tripmeter by pressing more than 4 seconds to reset the tripmeter and switching between tripmeter and odometer by pressing less than 4 seconds. I don't use the tripmeter because mine has the Trip-Tek.

I presume you are talking about a little toggle switch ...I believe it does all of the above and much more. I don't have my manual handy, but as I recall, it can also be used by service tech's to bring up a number of kinds of info related to the engine computer in the odometer window. I'm sure you can find the info in your manual somewhere it you really want all the details.

Strange, I asked the same question a couple days ago. I think there is so much information to go thru, that tidbit is easily missed. I was also wondering how to turn on the spotlamp over the driver. Don't remember ever reading about that one but the forum members helped me out.

The light comes on with the rheostat wheel to the right of the headlight switch.

Thanks, the forum members helped me out with that one. I'm sure I would have found it within a couple years by accident--ha.

Owner's Manual - Flip the switch quickly and change from miles to kilometers or visa versa. Hold the switch down for a while and reset the odometer trip miles.
