Angry Matrix 4x4 HDMI in 2012 Meridian

Mine failed again. Seems like they last me about 2 years and then go belly up. Does anyone else have that issue?

I've read here it can be as simple as the power supply failing. They can be purchased direct, and I think they actually will send you one free.

We changed the power supply, earlier this year. Also we keep the cabinet doors open. I really gets hot there. Power cord wa $10.00 plus $10.00 shipping. Thinking about getting one for a spare.

Yup mine died too, called Pace, 3 days and $25 bucks later a new power supply arrived and all is good now.

Also leave the doors open a few inches. I have had the switch over heat and drop signal, 30 minutes to cool down and all better again. I also have a DISH receiver and external HD that produce heat in the cabinet as well.

As been mentioned above - the power supply in these things is weak. I purchased a new 4x4 Matrix for my 2015 but it turned out to be the power supply.

Mine did not die in the electrical sense. The picture turned white and grainy and that was the end of it. I turned it off overnite, turned it back on and got a flashing blue light display all across the front. I think it's kaput

If you read all of the reviews...the symptoms may vary a bit. Blue lights, no switching, some switching, etc...

No matter the symptom, the cure is 99.9% of the time the power supply. I believe that a few of the people who had hdmi box replaced probably got new power supply's at the same time (or their issue reoccurred).

I have a 2015 Meridian and the Matrix has been nothing but trouble. I HATE it. It's been replaced, and works intermittently. It's in the shop right now getting fixed again. Did I say I hate the thing. If they know the power supply is weak, then fix it. It seems the manufacturer does not really care.

You might be steps ahead just replacing the power supply yourself and avoid using the shop. Assuming you mean an RV repair shop, I wonder if they just jerk out the 4X4 and replace it and never touch the power supply because that would take extra effort.

I have an extended warranty that it is being repaired under. But I think you are right about just ordering a power supply.

Ours has worked (let me knock on wood), but I think I'll order a power supply anyway and keep it handy. Might save a vacation!

Thanks to those of you that suggested the new power cord. I bought one from Pace and it kicked that 4x4 right back into life.

I have put in a new matrix and its already in the process of failing. The matrix turns out is pretty inexpensive in the world of home theatre gear. I am going to upgrade mine but first have it checked by a tech because I am really tired of the DIY thing.

Matrix

We keep the doors open when in use. Also shut the whole system off when not using. replaced the power cord this summer. Matrix was replaced two years ago at the factory.

I just got mine back from the shop. Two of the ports were bad, according to the tech. They replaced the unit and all is working. I kept the power supply from the broken unit in case I need it in the future.

So the matrix is broken again. One of the ports won't send a signal. The unit was replaced in October. I've only used the coach twice since it was replaced.

Are there any other options out there?
It would be nice to be able to hook up a firestick or Apple TV

I thought about just adding an HDMI cable to the TV, but with my main TV I cannot figure out how to get to the back of it. It fits so snugly into the cabinet.

Anyone know how to access the mounting hardware for the main lounge tv's

Grab the Matrix and pull it straight out. That worked for my 2012 Meridian 42E
