Journey Kitchen Sink Replacement?

The sinks in this '02 Journey are plastic. I just do not like them. They get stained and grungy looking very easily, are hard to clean and keep white. And I live in this RV full time so they seem to be grungy looking nearly all the time.

Because they are oddly shaped I suppose, I haven't found anything like them in the home improvement stores, but not all stores carry everything available.

So I'd like to ask the community if they've come up with a remodel replacement for the sink...and maybe the kitchen counter too?

Here's a look at mine:

And where it lives:

Any cabinet shop can build/cut a new counter top to fit
And with a new top any standard SS double sink can be installed.

You are not going to find direct replacement for top....will have to be made.
But that opens all kinds of options .......granite, corian, butcherblock, laminates etc

Old-Biscuit is exactly right, if you'd like to replace the countertop, the sink doesn't need to match the old one's opening. Here's one at Amazon That's close to what you have, but it has a rectangular cut out. You could perhaps go larger, single bowl, etc. on the new sink. Just make sure there's room underneath for what you'd like to install. Once you've decided on a sink, then you can give it to the counter folks to cut the opening for it as the fabricate the counter. That's what we just did in our Sticks and Bricks home.

Your '02 sink looks very much like my '04, but not quite the same. Maybe the same supplier, just a revised version? Or is yours solid surface? Mine is just ABS plastic.

I think mine is this one:

From Lippert, "Better Bath" seems to be the branding.

You might try contacting them, see if they made your sink, and see if they have a replacement in stainless?

If you can find a SS sink that is just a shade larger then the largest opening you have a cabinet shop can cut the existing counter top to fit the new larger sink. Thus saving the $ of all new counter tops.

Excellent info people...thanks!

I'm not sure which way to go yet, but I'll sure try and contact Better Bath soon to see if they have a stainless exact replacement. That would be the most cost effective route.

We have an 07 Journey and know what you mean by the sink looking grungy. We have found that using bleach from time to time gets rid of the stains.

Mine is plastic, too. We full time, cook a lot, and enjoy drinks that stain (red wine, coffee). It got grungy fast. I share your frustration. Someday I may change ours out. Meanwhile, I have found ways to deal with it; maybe it will help you until you replace it. First I bleach it then apply a protective coating. Car wax worked ok, mop-n-glo is lasting longer ( I do several coats), someday I'll try zep, the commercial floor coating.

Our '04 Adventurer had a similar sink and I replaced it with a 18" by 24" drop-in undivided sink with a pull out Delta faucet. You counter is very much like mine only required a little trimming to make it fit. The faucet is then mounted behind the sink. I had to cut the old sink in two pieces to get it out as I think they attached it to the counter and then put it in place. I had Lowe's look thru their catalogs and they found what is probably intended to be a bar sink for me. Linda couldn't be happier with the change.

Good luck,
Dave
