Is this part of the Hurricane system that I'm still trying to figure out? Couch sure isn't secured very well.

The plan is/was to take the couch out and replace it with a love seat recliner that's in our 5th wheel. Now I'm not sure after I saw the register and fluid lines....

Kinda looks like you have an engine type heating system. When you're driving, the engine pumps antifreeze through that radiator. Or it could be a satellite HydaHot furnace radiator?

Beats me, but I wouldn't go tearing out the couch, that's for sure.

Yeah, it's some sort of water heating system that runs under the floor and through the motor. It's supposed to be for hot water. There is no hot water tank....The fluid is the same stuff in my boiler heating system in my home.

Oh, so you've found that it's an extension of the engine's cooling system using antifreeze. OK, so that's much easier to work with over the Hydrahot system. And if I understand you...

First, don't you have any booklets that explain your system??? Anyway, continuing...

Just crawl under the RV under the engine or access it from the top and find the 2 gate valves that are there. They are brass, generally on or very close to the engine, and behave just like garden water shutoff valves. Turn those off. They also supply the dash heating system. They may have put another set of inline shutoff valves in the hose near the couch radiator so check for that too. Follow any rubber hoses you find from the couch under the RV and cut and cap them off. It's important to do a good job there with capping them off so they never leak. Strap them up to a frame member. Oh, there's a lot of antifreeze that's in the hoses so they will drain a bunch. Capture it and dispose of it properly.

Once that's all done, and everything is drained, take out the couch. Plug the hose holes. Install the new couch.

Of course you could drive to a RV remodel shop and have them concoct a custom radiator system so you don't loose that heating system. If I was doing it, I'd tear out the couch as much as I could without harming that heater system so I could ruminate over it and try to come up with a custom system that still uses it...cus they're a neat way to heat.

Thanks 4 the reply. I wouldn't plug the hoses because they run throughout the coach. They would need an inline connector to tie them together and keep the fluid flowing.

If that's what it needs, yeah, do that.

The hard part will be to find a way to dispose of the old couch. Might be difficult to find a buyer.

I have an Ultimate Freedom also. It is part of the Hurricane system. Nothing to worry about. It just a radiator with a fan blowing on it. The system is very well explained in the Winnebago owners manual if you have that.
