Dan,
For the driver's mirror you need to pull the mirror forward as close as possible to motorhome. It will significantly reduce the wind noise. (Also, some people put silicon on the weep holes except fro the very front one.)
The newer mirrors have three (instead of just one) set screw to help tighten the mirror. Your idea is a good one. I sure it will help others.
Thanks for the reply.

Very interesting, I would have never thought of this.

Good ideas. As far as the weep holes, are you referring to the drivers side window? If so, Lichtsinn Motors sent me covers for these for $1.50 each. They are designed for left and right applications. I bought enough to do all of the weep holes on the coach, excluding those that slide into the coach. They are working fine and did reduce some of the wind noise.

But we must all face the fact that we are driving a house down the road. Noise is going to be a part of the travel environment. We can only address so much of it in a practical way. The suggestions here seem to fit that goal. Thank you.

Rick

Dennis, when you replaced your mirrors, did you replace them with the same type, or something different? I think I'm dealing with the same issue, and since you fixed your problem with them, I'm curious....

As an update on the camera situation, I wanted to let folks know I purchased the cable and we attempted to splice it per the wiring diagrams provided farther up the thread. Was surprised that it didn't work, but the reason it didn't work was unexpected. Turns out there are two different cameras used on these coaches. Some are 12 volts, but some are 8/8.5 volts. There is a box in the line between the head unit and the camera that has a switch on it that allows this to be set where you need it. The factory camera I had was an 8.5 volt, and the new IR unit was 12volt. So, they put the old stuff back in and the parts guy got on the phone with River Park.

He called me after going back and forth with them and it turns out they DO have a cable that will adapt the IR camera to the Infotainment center. Had them send that out (I'd already cut the other one, so that was a throw away). New cable was 62' long. With the threading they had to do through the coach to get it from the front to the back, it was actually BARELY long enough.

The siwtchbox was also a challenge. Winnebago said it was up near the radio....and it wasn't. Finally located it. It was mounted behind the Freightliner Info Center on the top of the dash. Tech had to unscrew that brownish colored cap and take it off to get access to it. But when they got the whole thing back together, it was DEFINITELY worth it. New camera performs much better than the factory one, even during the day.

And to top things off, was able to bring the coach home and try out the latest home project I finished...putting an RV Subpanel on the side of the house. Ran the wires for it (6 gauge) to the main panel last weekend and got it all hooked up. Plugged the coach in, and it was AWESOME!!!! No more having to run the gen set in the driveway!
