Group 31 battery issue 2014 Sightseer 35G

The group 31 Napa batteries in my 2014 Sightseer 35G were shot when we purchased it last year. I bought 2 Trojan group 31 150 AH batteries as replacements. The Trojans are taller and I'm having trouble getting them to fit. Has anyone else run into this problem and, if so, what was your solution? I connected one of the batteries, sideways, in the battery box for the time being.

You have to purchase batteries that fit. The batteries must also be properly secured - which I doubt side mounting could accomplish. The obvious solution is to sell the wrong size batteries and purchase ones that will fit. You risk serious damage to your coach should the batteres short to ground - a fire could be the outcome.

Thanks, bobmac. I am not driving the MH with an unsecured battery. I hooked it up in order to get it ready after winter storage. The Trojan batteries are the same width, a half inch shorter in length, and an inch taller than the original batteries. I can use the stock battery hold downs. I had my son-in-law, a mechanic, look at it. It's a matter of moving a fuse up an inch.
