Dash a/c condenser crud 2005 34H journey
Great forum! When we first got the 34H Journey 4 months ago I noticed the dash a/c condenser in the rear behind the driver was oily and crudy so I gave it the Simple Green. After 20 hrs of driving, and not all with the a/c operating, I cleaned it again today.
The outside of the fans down to the bottom condenser fins was oily and collected more crud. The oil residue is an amber color, like engine oil. I visually checked for leaks after running the dash a/c for a while but didn't notice anything. Dash a/c is really cold and the fans come on so I would think that if it's an a/c leak then the a/c system wouldn't be functioning properly. Looking up from behind the condenser the rest of the engine is clean and dry.
Before I spend $$$ looking for a problem that may not exist I'm wondering if this is residue from the near by diesel exhaust or unseen breather and I just have to clean it up once in a while.
