Cold air intake

I just purchased a 2006 Winnebago Itasca Suncruiser Model IPG35A (6.8 V10) and would like know if anyone has installed a K&N cold air intake and what K&N part number was used. Thanks in advance for any feedback received.

Not sure if you'll get the response you want. There are not many MH owners who are fans of K&N filters.

K&N Cold Air Intake

Thanks for the feed-back, is there a better air intake that you could suggest. Very much appreciated and the 1970 Chevelle is one of my favorite cars.

Sorry, I can't help with that. The air intake on ours comes off the air filter box then up and faces front of RV. Not sure how to improve on that but I haven't seen the K&N air intake. How is it different? Can you use the stock air filter or do you have to use the K&N filter?

Cold Air Intake

This link is to a filter that replaces the stock air filter and will provide a 5 HP increase. https://www.knfilters.com/search/app...ay&engine=6.8L
This link is to a cold air intake that will provide a 15 HP increase.

Banks makes a cold air intake that is enclosed, less noise.

I am doing some research on the Banks for HP increase. With a 1-2 mile per gallon increase it would not take long to pay for it self.

Well I have no experience with the cold air intakes so I can't comment except to say the K&N and Banks seem to be very similar. Both use a permanent K&N filter. A user on irv2 forum, vettenut, has installed one. Maybe get some feedback from him.

Take a look at https://afepower.com/. I have used K&N filters and CAI's on several vehicles. After seeing the oiled K&N filter in the CAI on my 2006 Jeep Liberty turn into a giant dirt ball after traveling the Top of the World Highway I started looking for something better. AFE makes similar products to K&N plus they offer a complete line of dry reusable filters. I put a AFE dry filter in the K&N CAI on the Liberty, Seems to perform the same with no dealing with oiling the filter element. I think K&N does now offer dry filter elements for some applications. Take a look and see what you think.

Thanks for the feed-back Albert, I like that you can get AFE in a dry filter and also enclosed. Have a great rest of the week and god bless!
