Brake Control wires for a 2002 Journey

Ok,

I'm stumped, looked at the wiring diagrams, tried to look for past posts about this, crawled under the dash.

How do I find the wire harness for a brake controller in a Winnebago 2002 Journey LD 36?????

We had a 03 Journey 36DL and I do not belive there is one. The Winnebago wiring diagram does not show any brake controller wires.

Some have them and some don't. Mine was supposed to have it but didn't.
Had to run a separate wire. You do have to look and look to make sure it's not there.

Brake Control wires for a 2002 Journey

Mine ( 03 dl ) is a small grey rectangular plug on the left side bundle of wires on the floor ( behind the foot rest that is where the stereo amp is mounted) pull that out and in the middle of the huge mess of wires that are bundled there you will find it. The wires are labeled brake controler .. What wire is what I don't know
I am also clueless as to what the plug fits... gm ford Chrysler .. Style harness adapter ?

These are the wires I found under the dash of my 2004 Journey. I don't know if they are similar in your RV. I opened a couple of wire looms before I found what I was looking for. I had to pull the wires out of the large loom.

I have a 2002 Itasca sunrise 34d.
I contacted Winnebago with my serial and they told me that it was not prewired.
I then installed a p2 Tekonsha and ran a 12 gage wire the length of the chassis for the brake contol. A 6 pin round female socket had been installed and so I tapped into those circuits.
FWIW
Just a hint on the brake control wire that gets connected to "the cold side of the brake switch". Your meter will show that 2 of the 3 wires respond to the brake, but on mine, one of the 2 wires will cause a motor to run when the manual switch of the P2 is engaged. The manufacturer told me that when the manual is engaged the P2 sends outbound power to light the tail lights. If you choose the other circuit you send power to the brake assist motor. Sorry I don't have a wire color.

I contacted Winnebago service and received a very detailed install sheet via e-mail. I have not installed the controller yet, so I am not sure if my 04 Journey is like what is shown in the instructions. iRV2 system will not let me upload, contact:

So Winnebago sent me a document with a picture of the harness. I don't know if mine has it, can't seem to find it. So I have sent in a request to Camping World regarding Good Sam Membership and the $39 install fee for products you purchase. I figure let them install it for the $$$ at this point. Anyone know pro/con's??? Does this qualify, CW hasn't answered me yet.
