Another Keyless Entry Thread
I have been trying to find the problem , with the Keyless entry on my 05 Journey
I have reasearched the internet and forum on the on going problem .
Here is what I have found out That a few years back that there was a replacement from Tri mark that would need a new harness and remotes .
Which is no longer available .
The problem Im having is that the entry door wont unlock !
Every other function works as should , the Door locks by using the remote ,
During unlock , I will hear a click and the porch light will light and marker lights will flash
The inside switch on the passenger side operates both the locking of the entry door . And both lock's and unlock's of lower compartment doors.
Knowing this , I checked the brass contacts on the door frame .
There is voltage at the actuator in the door during lock and unlock .
Well I purchase a new actuator . The problem remains the same
Next I open the dash and check contacts of the harness and the relay by swaping with another .
Still no luck ! On the back of the moduel are discriptions of the wireing .
Number " 2 " states reverse polarity .
Are we on the same page ? Could my problem be internal ?
Although it appears the actuator wants to retract , , but dont !
would anyone have any ideas or ways to chech polarity .Because I reversed the leads in the door just for fun and it still wont work both ways ..
On the plus side , I got to lube all internals of both the door , hinges , and handle
It now manually , opens and closes with out effort at all

I had the pleasure of reengineering my system. The Tri mark unit was missing. I substituted a cheap $28 remote door and alarm system. Two of the compartment door actuators were dead.
The actuators have a blue and green wire. The polarity applied, determines the direction the actuators move.
I have not looked at the door system. Does it use the same actuator as the compartments. If so you can just apply voltage to the green and blue wires and then reverse the polarity, watch the actuator for proper operation. If the door does not work, look for a mechanical problem.
Good Luck
Let us know what you find.
PS The red wire on pin 2 is just a jumper from pin 14 +12V
pins 3 and 9 are the triggers to the lock and unlock relays that do the polarity reversal for the actuators.

The actuators . On the 05 Journey are all the same . ( one size fits all )
I have had it out .Also bought another . Bench tested both by reversing polarity
Also while installed , inside the door frame I tried reverseing the wires to the brass jam contacts . All that did was reverse the problem .
As far as mechanical . Having all mechanical parts out . Cleaned and lubed . I see nothing that would be revelant to the problem

Have you tried using the battery to apply the voltages to the actuator. Try directly to the green and blue wires and then to the brass contacts.
Only make momentary contact, you don't want to burn them out.
What model MH do you have I would like to look at Winne's prints. Thank

Test it in place, with the wires.

Try reversing the bottom 2 relays on the left side of the fuse panel of this sheet.

You nail it !
Previouslly on another project . One by one ,, I pulled all those relays . They were hard to remove after all the years .So I buttered the sockets with dilectric grease
Fast forward to the present dilemma .
I did previouslly look at the very same digram you sent me .
One says open & one says close .
Previouslly I changed just the bottom one with
the one in the harness to the moduel
This time I did as you asked , top to bottom. And every thing works as it should .
But why ? Assuming one was bad .
I ask because it has not worked since I purchased the coach from the original owner .
This was not my first attempt to fix this .
But thank you very much for your advise !

May have been: poorly seated relay, poor/dirty contacts. Who knows but often removing and reseating parts, make the problem go away.
Glad it works and hope it continues to be trouble free. The wireless remote make life a little easier.
Cheers
Norm

Here's another twist. I have the 2007 Itasca Horizon that has the same likely door remote and key pad. The remotes work but I can't get the key pad to work. I bought it at a CW and could not get information about the previous owner. I do have the original paperwork but as we all know the maker of the keypad system is long out of business. Also apparently with this system once the factory default code is replaced with a user code, the default code does not work. I have received several instructions about different factory codes, resetting etc. and nothing works. I can lock the door using the 7/8 and 9/0 buttons and the key pad is illuminated but does momentary sequence off every 22 seconds. Yes I timed it.
Any suggestions.

Sorry!
I don't have the key pad, nor have I ever seen one in use. I have not researched it at all.
How many numbers in the code?
Good Luck.

I have that bulletin and have tried the procedure with no luck. I have the original document for the SCS keypad with a code but that didn't work. If I get really bored and run out of things to do, I'll pull the keypad and see if there is a serial number on it that differs from the booklet.
Appreciate the responses.
