I'm a new owner of a 2005 Journey 36G (CAT 350 Allison 3000.) The seller told me that the coach does NOT have an Economy Mode program for the transmission. But suspecting that he could be mistaken I pushed the Mode button on the tranny key pad while driving the coach to its new home and had a red LED indicator light up. Does this mean my coach does have Economy Mode?
I do notice when the Mode button has been pushed and the LED is lit the Exhaust Brake stops working. Is this part of Economy Mode?
On mine, the Economy Mode makes it upshift earlier, and it will hold 6th gear much longer uphill than it would without. I don't use it much, and now you got me wondering if the exhaust brake works in that mode
I run my tranni in E mode all the time, and see no difference in operation of the exhaust brake. Sounds like you should maybe check the operators manual.
