29VE pantry mod

Has anyone put one of these sliding pantry inserts in their 29VE? The measurements look like it would fit with one in the bottom and one in the top of the pantry next to the refrigerator.

The only change would be taking the middle shelves out of the pantry first and then screwing the lower rail system to the bottom of the cabinet.

You can see it on Amazon here:

I made some pull out drawers for my 27pe but these look interesting. Can’t see any reason why they wouldn’t work. I would assume there is a quick release in the glides that separate them at the bottom of the shelving so the glides could be screwed to the bottom if the cabinet. Let us know if you decide to go that route.

Okay, I've put one of this sliding pantry inserts into my upper pantry. The fit is perfect and it was an easy job to do. I've reused the latch but have ordered a stronger one for more security.

I'm really pleased with the outcome. We're going to test it on our next trip before deciding to also put one in the lower cabinet.

Good job!! Looks like a factory install. Still thinking of changing the pull out drawers that I made to this shelf

I noticed that they have different sizes. Why size did you get? And did you loose much space?

The size that fits into the 29VE Pantry is 6.5 inches wide. If I recall properly, the width of the cabinet is 7 inches so it's a perfect fit.

That cabinet is sweet

That really is a great looking install. I wanted to keep the middle shelves in our 32YE pantry so I made individual sliding platforms with baskets attached. We can still put “tall” stuff in them - but I gotta say, your approach is really nice.

Great ideas! Our pantry is really hard to see what is way in the back. I’m going to give one or both of these changes a try. Thanks for posting!

29 Slide out drawer

I installed two of these in my 2016 Vista 30T. I use the 8 inch wide ones and they fit with no issues. I took out the two middle shelves and glued and screwed them on the bottom on both pantry bottoms. Rather than attach the doors to the front of the slide outs I set them back further in the pantry and then used a lock I made to hold them in place so they did not slide out while going down the road. I did not see a way to securely lock close the units if I attached the doors to them. The doors are installed just like they came from the factory and when you open them up you pull the pin lock I made and slide the unit out. So much nicer than pawing thru the pantry trying to find something.

Minnie, I had trouble attaching so you got one of the new recliners I put in sorry. Here is the latch attachment I installed so the shelves would not slide out while going down the road. I got the pin at the local hardware store and then drilled a piece of aluminum flat bar to fit the pin and drilled out the bottom of the cabinet about 3/8 of an inch. I used the middle shelves in each of the pantry's as the bottoms....
