2018 Vista LX 27N Patio LEDs Blocked By Slideout... What Am I Missing?

The LED patio lights on our 2018 Vista LX 27N are blocked by the slide… I know on the later models the light strip has been moved to the leading edge of the awning when opened, which seems better...

So, what am I missing? The design on ours seems useless, unless the awning is open and the slide is in. Curious if anyone can tell me what the logic of this design is? I don't understand it...

Thx!

I have the same issue on my 2017 Adventurer. While I don't much care for it, it is a pretty minor misstep.

While I absolutely love our 27N floor plan, this has always been a confusing issue for me as well. It is actually significant because what you're left with is a real lack of light in the patio area with just the one porch light and the slide blocks it from illuminating a major portion of the side of the rig... two sources of illumination, both blocked by the slide.

I'm thinking of trying to put a light string out on the awning rail but I'm not sure how to go about that.

We ended up routing an extension cord that terminates just inside the exterior TV door. Then when we are camped we have a string of LEDs that are clothes-pinned to the lower edge of the slide, the entire length of it. This way we have lights whether the awning is deployed or not. Simple install and only takes seconds to set up at camp.
