I have been reading and enjoying these forums for a while now. Thank you for all of your insights. I am now looking at purchasing a new 07 Meridian. What should especially concerned me about a coach that has been "on the lot" for about 2 years. What would be a reasonable "deduction" from msrp.We have had several travel trailers and it's time to move up. Thanks for any and all advice.

Good question. We asked for and got 25% off ours and we ordered it in Feb 2005. The market was pretty robust and still Lazydays was willing to deal.

Since this is a lot queen, you should demand quite a discount and walk if they won't deal. You are taking a small risk by buying a motorhome that has been sitting for two years, but if the price was right, I think I would overlook the age if the condition was good.

I'm sure you will get other opinions, but I think I would want 35-40% discount. Start at 40% and see if they pucker up.

Jim and Elaine:

Welcome to the forum . You have come to the best RV forum on the web, for sure.

The Meridian is a nice rig. I agree with John...I'd want at least 35 - 40% off MSRP. In this market you should be able to get that but you may have to walk away and wait for a phone call later.

I'd also try to negotiate new batteries all around since those have been sitting for 2 years. I'd also want an engine oil/filter change before delivery.

Good luck and be sure to come back and tell us if you get the rig.

NADA shows a low of 140,000 to an average 170,000
You are looking at the lower end in todays market the minute you drive it off the lot.
Follow the good advice from above about what to offer.
You have good taste, It is a wonderful coach.

RVonline a 2007 Journey, 300 hp cummins, 6500 miles.
Asking 118ooo. This is one of the SE versions but still something to compare to.

Read this article it will give you some background and ammo for your negotiations. basically the Class A MH market is off over 56% sales due to current economic uncertainty.

I just bought a new '07 Tour in July that was a 'leftover' on the lot. After some negotiation, I got 40% off MSRP. They replaced ALL 5 batteries, filled the propane tank and filled the diesel. Remember you still have the manufacturer warranty just like if it was an '08 or '09 coach. I drove it from NJ to Yellowstone and back with no problems. It has the 400hp Cummins and the Freightliner chassis. Good luck!

You did reallllllly good at that price discount. I bought my 2006 Journey in January of 2007 and felt good when I got 25% off. Enjoy your new toy.
