2007 Meridian

looking at a used Meridian, couple questions I have. The body is painted a maroon color, and according to the brochure from that year, it was never offered, but the dealer says its factory and they have sold other units with the same colors. Can someone possible explain that confusion for me. Also in 2007 the C7 went to DPF emissions, so is that something to be worried about? Also is there a chance that the 07 coach is actually on a 06 chassis, which would not have the emissions as I understand it. Havent actually seen the coach in person, just trying to get some info in my head before I get there. Thanks
coach is located at rossford ohio camping world, if you want to verify the color.

Very likely on a 06 chassis. DEF didn't appear until the 2010 chassis. I had a 2008 Tour and it had a diesel particulate filter but no def.

DPF (diesel particulate filter) started in 2007. The use of DEF didn't start until 2010
I have a 2010 model Journey manufactured in September of 2009. It does not use DEF because the engine was made before January 2010.
You can find the manufacturing dates on the wall next to the drivers seat.

Ya I was asking about DPF as stated, I know DEF wouldnt be on it. I guess its a 50/50 shot on that. I would rather it not have it. Are there any know issues with the C7's that had the DPF filter. We had some trucks at work, that were nothing but headaches the first few yrs those were implemented. As for the color, he sent me the window sticker, and it says color SEDONA which is a option for that yr, but apparently the picture, and or lighting isint doing it justice.

Get the VIN and call the Freightliner 800 number. They will be able to answer all your engine and emissions questions. As to the color, it was probably a factory full body paint job.

Got a picture you can post? It's hard to tell from the brochure but the Sedona scheme has a redish looking color. Could that be it?

I have an '06 Meridian with the C7 Cat 350. I don't think you have to worry about this engine. Hopefully, you have an '06 chassis. I would do as someone else suggested and get the VIN no., then call either Winnebago or Freightliner.

So I guess the question is, would the original owner have the option to change the paint colors when ordering it. IDK because I have never ordered a new coach. Maybe that is what happened.

Also on the DPF, i am more concerned about if it is problematic. If it is not problematic then it does matter if its a 06 or 07

Trust me if it is a re-paint from original factory paint you are probably better off if it was applied properly.

Isn't '07 towards the tail end of Cat's OTR engines? Is it the 300 or 350?

Its the 350 engine. I am hoping to look at it next week sometime. As far as the paint, my first concern is, why was it repainted, damage??? and the second reason I was curious on the color is the salesman says its factory, but its not in the brochure, and i cant find another one online the same color.

I have seen LOTS of Journey and Meridian coach's, and NEVER one with that pattern nor color scheme. I'll agree with Mavrick that if it's a repaint, you're already money ahead.

Have you done a CarFax check on it to make sure it wasn't in an accident?

That could be a reason for a repaint.

I agree that does not look like a Winnebago paint scheme. I would definitely find out if it has been in an accident. I have a 2007 Journey 36G with the CAT 350 C7 that has served me very well full-timing. It was built in late 2006 so it does not have DPF or DEF. I have all yearly maintenance done at Freightliner in Gaffney and have never had a problem with chassis or engine.

07 was the last and final year for CAT OTR engines. Paint looks factory to me. If it's not you will be able to tell in a heartbeat.
Thats a good starting price for that rig.
