2004 suncruiser slideout repair

We received an estimate of over $3k to replace the driver side slideout rollers. We were told it is a 16 hour (remove the slideout in it's entirety) job. It seems like there should be a better, less expense method of doing this (other than doing it myself, that is!) Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

I assume it's an HWH slide. If so, PM azpete and see what he has to say. He's a Winnieowner and works for HWH and has helped many of us.

If going to Iowa to have the work done is an option for you, contact HWH directly for a quote. The ends of our triangular glides that can be seen when the bay doors are open were cracked. They were replaced at the factory for a very reasonable price, we thought. The factory is right of I-80 and has some water and electric hookups.

Also, contact 3 T'S RV service in Lake Havasu City, AZ.

Winnebago also has factory service in Junction City, Oregon.

We had ours repaired at FC. They quoted up to 25 hours at $100/hr, but fixed it in 8.5 hours. I have been told it is much cheaper at HWH.
Good luck,
Dave

Well, I took the RV to another shop and they said there was a pebble under the slide scratching the floor, They removed the pebble and lubed the rollers for a grand total of $218. It really pays to get a second opinion!!!!

Thanks for the responses.

So who was the first place you took it?
I want to avoid that shop.
