Great coach from what I saw. There were two in our rv club and they had lots of 'cutting edge' features that became standard in later models. They seemed to pull Washington passes and Columbia grade no problem.
Basement a.c. worked fine in eastern Washington's hottest.
Owners loved them.

The Ultimate were/are great coaches. The basement ac/heat pump works great. A couple of things to watch for on it -- the duct behind the rear cap can separate/leak air which can greatly affect inside cooling. Primary problem area is at the bottom where the duct comes out of the unit & turns upward. I have retaped that one. Some owners have also had a leak at a seam about half way up the cap. Sometimes that can be at least partially remedied from the bottom. In extreme cases repair requires removal of the cap.

He means the whole back end (cap) has to be removed to fix it. So essentially, remove the back end wall of the coach, repair ducting, reinstall end wall and repaint trim as necessary.

Not the entire wall, just the fiberglass exterior panel. Not as big a deal as it sounds. No, it is not common on this or any other Winnebago model, but I have known it to be done on a few to repair a bad duct joint. As I indicated, the only duct leak problem I have experienced on mine is the joint at the bottom where it turns upward.
