'17 Vista sewer hose

I have been using a Rhino hose for years with my other campers.. It won't fit up through the hole in the wet bay to connect, so I have to run it out the door. There is a Sunstar across the way from me with the same apparent issue. It would seem that all hoses are the same diameter, so is this "just the way it is"? I could probably enlarge the hole some but hate the thought of taking a saw to my coach.

I also have a vista and use Rhino. It takes some finessing, but it will definitely fit through the hole. To help try cutting off two of the tabs on the Rhino. You only need two to connect to the sewer port. This gives you some leeway.

I had same problem with my RV and have them replace the opening with the larger opening under warranty work great looks great or a rhino fits through it easily.

I use a 2' compartment hose like the one shown below and sold here: Dominator 2’ Compartment Hose - Valterra D04-0202 - Sewer Hoses - Camping World

A short 90 degree bayonet fitting might eliminate your problem. Your main sewer exit line should move up and down. With the 90 degree fitting in place, push down and the turd herder can be connected from below the existing hole.

The second option is to use something like the ValterraSS01 system. Because you're dealing with a 1" diameter hose, it's easy to attach the head of this system to your sewer outlet pipe, then feed the hose through the opening in the floor of your wet bay. I've been using this system for 4 years, it's slower to evacuate both tanks due to the smaller diameter hose, but it get's the job done without having to re-engineer the wet bay.

Thanks for the tips. I'm going to check out the compartment hose. If not that, then I'll try modifying the end of my current hose.

BirchyBoy,
I enlarged my access hole slightly with a drill motor and rotary file.
I also ground and filed the rhino fitting protuberences so that it fits easily. This has been working well for us for over 5 years.
I modified the rhino fitting first and then enlarged the hole slightly to fit the fitting.

I had kind of written off getting a real sewer hose through the storage hole that Winnebago provided. I've gotten some ideals from you guys and will give it a try.

Guess you learned a lesson today, quit reading the forum and drinking beer at the same time, otherwise you'll be I the market for a new keyboard soon.
I knew those words, just hadn't put them together right.

My opening was also too small to get the hose in. The hole had just been cut out by some hack on the assembly line with a router and wasn't perfectly round at all. So the hack that's in my shop all the time got his router out and made the hole the size it should have been to start with, all's well now and looks every bit as good as the first hole.

You are welcome Albert. Happy to pass along something someone else shared with me a while back.
