'17 Vista 29 LE Slide Problem

'17 Vista 29 LE. My wash-brush handle got between the couch, and drivers seat while whole-wall slide was going in. Now my slide has a 3/4 inch gap when in. I can see the strip of teeth, and the motor gear at the bottom of the slide, where the gap is. Can I remove the rack retaining pin at the outside, and have Heavy-Doug shoulder the bottom of the slide-wall in while I push the rack toward the slide to skip the teeth that skipped originally. What would be the alternative?

Assuming its the LCI Swintek Slide system with the tracks on the side of the slide out and single motors that drive gears on both tracks thru a shaft on each side.

Are top and bottom both out the same amount? If so you should not mess with the tracks. Just move the slide out 3-4" then move it back in, holding the button down at least 5 seconds after the the side that is closer stops moving. You may have to do this several times depending on how far off the two sides are.

If top and bottom are NOT out the same amount then one of the two gears on the track jumped and you may have damaged the track or the gear and even if you can get it back in line you may have long term problems.

Winnebagoind.com has links to the LCI Swintek manuals that provide detailed procedures for working on either scenario.

Good luck.
