Winnebago's new coach battery models

Does anyone know what battery model number Winnebago has been putting in 2016-2017 Class A coaches? All I have to go on is these 2 pictures.

No accurate RC to Ah conversion exists but the most common formula is RC divided by 2 plus 16. A short method is dividing RC by 1.9.

Caution: there's a 2016 Ellipse (new in April 16) with battery problems in our campground. When one of the batteries was pulled out of the frame it was dated '2013' (date stamped on the bottom side - the top side stickers were not used).

Recommend if you buy new that you have them pull some batteries out - what's their age - are they all the same - how do they 'load test' ...

As long as we're on batteries, question regarding the AGMs in the Ellipse......(mine is a '14), does it hurt anything to leave the (MAIN) inverter switch ON indefinitely while on shore power? I monitor the display which either reads "fully charged", or "float", but I noticed the voltage at 14.1 volts a couple times. Am I doing anything incorrectly, or just let it ride?

When you see 14.1 volts, is it around 30 degrees F ?

Some chargers have battery temp sensors and adjust the volts up, as the temp drops. 14.1 volts at 30 F wound be OK.

I leave my inverter on full-time - now for 2 1/2 years of a mix of hook-ups and boon docking with solar - no issues. Inverter remains cool to the touch when on hook-ups, warms up when using the MW when boon docking - minimal increase in temp when RR cycles ...

When you see CCA's referenced its not a deep cycle battery...the battery in the photo is a general purpose do-all-but-nothing-great trolling motor battery.

Twinboat that would make sense. I have indeed noticed the voltage at that level during those temps outside. Learned something there!

I have done as you do Luv2Roam2, I was just wondering to be safe.

Late to the party! When your coach is plugged in to shore power or using generator the inverter portion of your Inc/Chrgr is bypassed by the transfer switch inside that unit. Leave your inverter 'on' all the time. If the coach loses shore power for some reason, then the inverter will start inverting and run the refer, etc.

Assuming (hate that word!) your charger is set with the correct parameters for your house battery bank, your batteries should float around 13.2 VDC if ambient air temp is 70 degrees F or so, even with a light load.

Is the 14.1 when floating? Or Bulk or Absorption? For how long does the display show 14.1?

NoMoreAz, thanks for the reply. I always have left my inverter on at all times. When I started seeing the 14.1 volts I started to wonder about it. The colder ambient temps explain this situation, and makes sense now. Yes, it does show that 14.1 voltage while in "float" mode. All is well.

I have the same batteries in my 38Q. When they are fully charged and the inverter says it's on "float" the inverter says the batteries are at 12.6 V. Seems low to me? At what voltage should you start the generator when boondocking?
