Hi Folks (again): Well, I disconnected the chassis batteries and the generator would not start (wouldn't even turn over). I reconnected the chassis batteries and the generator started right up. I disconnected the coach batteries and the generator started. Soooo, I guess the Onan 7.5KW diesel gen set on my 02 Journey 36DL is connected to the chassis batteries. I guess you never know how the factory is setting them up each day. THANKS all.

I believe the same thing......A person won't know WHAT set of batteries their generator will start from until you test it. Winnie apparently wires up these things differently at a whim (?)

Something else to keep in mind is that if you turn off the house batteries at the switch ( by the stairs) the generator will not start either. Everyone else is correct the alternator charges all the batteries and the MOM start switch will let you start the generator too.
Winnebago has been wiring their coaches this way for some time.
You might want to go on this site to the wiring diagrams and put in your coach and get the wiring diagram for everything.
Good Luck
