Video Switcher Access

I'm looking for some tips on how to get access into the video wiring box on my 2000 Itasca Suncruiser 32V. It has the stock video switcher, and VCR, etc.

I have the wiring diagrams already, but I want to know the easiest way to access it. There's a panel on top with, I think, 4 small screws. However, given the space, it is tricky to get a screw driver in there.

There is also a panel on the front, with two screws to the right, but the antenna booster and inverter on/off switch are affixed to this panel.

I'm trying to wire in a winegard DTV converter. Any advice on that would be good, too!

The panel covering the video switch in our Journey was held in place by hook and loop tape, I simply pulled off the panel, than I removed the switch plate for the antenna booster. The video switch box itself was also held in place with hook and loop tape.

I made a new smaller panel to mount and hold just the antenna booster in place. The mounted the DTV converter on top of the switch box with hook and loop tape. And put everything back in the cabinet Worked fine for me..

My setup is different than yours, so no help there. If you use splitter make sure it is made to pass DC up to the antenna. The booster switch is nothing more than a dc switch to pass 12V up to the amplier in the batwing.

If it is the same as on an 01 35U, this Velcro is industrial strength. It takes a LOT of force to remove it. Caution: I may be comparing apples to oranges but if it is secured by this Velcro, you're going to have to use a putty knife type thing to free it.

The front panel is held by the two screws on the one end and some Velcro. The industrial strength Velcro mentioned, holds the switch to the metal shelf. The front cover comes off easily and the antenna amp comes with it.

Thanks everyone. I got the front panel off with no problem, which gave me enough access to do what I needed.

The top panel is definitely being held in with four sheet metal screws.. I'm not sure how they expect someone to get a screw driver in there, unless you use one of those bent ones..
