I never turn mine off when traveling but I do turn it off in storage but leave the charger part on.

600 watts isn't enough to run anything but the tv so it could be that there is no inside switch.
I think you are right.

I have heard that the inverter even with TVs turned off can run the batteries down overnight while boon docking. Do you dry camp? ( flying J's etc) and if so how do your batteries do with the inverter left on overnight?

My rule of thumb is to keep the inverter off unless you want to run a 110V appliance when not 1) hooked up to shore power, or 2) running the generator.

Reason being is the inverter will pull your house batteries down real fast.

If you're driving the coach, not to worry, as the alternator will keep a charge in the batteries with no problem. So if you need 110V to run an appliance, you should not have any problems.

When you're boondocking, different story. Only run your inverter when you need to run a 110V appliance (TV, microwave, etc). When your power needs are done, turn it off, as it will pull your house batteries down very quickly.

I leave the inverter on for small appliances, Computer, Cell phone chargers, daughters games and toys, TV etc.

I usually try to turn on the Generator for the Microwave. It will run on the inverter but It pulls alot of amps and is not good for the batteries to have that high a discharge.
