Is there some way to keep the light below the step on while the steps are extended?

With black steps and black night, plus old eyes it's hard to see the steps going down them at night.

Turn on the power switch. But then the step will cycle in and out every time the door is opened and closed.

If you have the Kwikee steps, there is a 16 AWG purple wire that can be attached to 12V through a 1 amp fuse. When 12V is present the step light will be on. You could probably hook up a separate switch to this wire.

RV Toy store has a motion detect step that lights up. I believe it called Sure Step.
