Hello Bob and Bev,

Proper charge Voltage is important for any battery. I have replaced the original Trace inverter (modified sine wave) with a true sine wave ProSine 2000. It has a battery temperature corrected 100 Amp. charger, programmable bank Amp./Hour size configuration, battery type configuration (AGM, Gel, and Flooded) and almost all charge parameters can be pre-programmed. The pre-programming can be set automatically for quite a few off the shelf batteries by several manufacturers by selecting a pre-set number from a table in the manual.

I don't know what in the way of an inverter/charger is being installed in the 06 Horizon, but do check for the ability to pre-set the charger for AGM batteries. If possible, install the appropriate temperature probe for the charger onto the batteries so the charger can reduce the charge voltage appropriately for an increase in temperature.

My responses may seem a tad erratic since I am still busy at it fixing x-ray equipment all over New Mexico. I was just in Shiprock and am headed out Thursday to Raton. If you have any specific questions for me, be patient if a response doesn't come quickly.

I had my 4 Kyocera 125 panels with tilt mounts mounted to the metal frame that passes under the fiberglass every so many ft. I also use Magnum True Sine Wave 2000 watt inverter with built in 3 stage charger plus Outback MPPT controller for solar panels.
