Hi. I'm wondering if anyone has temporary satellite service for just when you're out in your RV. I called Dish network and they told me that they 'don't do RV's,' and that I'd have to have service at my house and then take the receiver from home with me on the road. We'd only want service month to month so we could cancel when not out on the road. Anyone have any input? Thanks in advance for your help.

Well, Dish does "do RVs" as our Dish receiver was installed in our motorhome by a Dish vendor and has never been associated with a "house." But we never talked to Dish Network about it -- we went to a local Dish vendor, told them what we wanted, and they told us what we would need and how to do it.

However, I don't know anyone who has satellite TV service that thay can "turn off" when they don't want it and "turn on" when they do. Those generally are the folks who have Dish (or Direct TV) in their stick house and just take the receiver from home when they go Rving. Unless your RV is equipped with an automatic dish, you would need a portable dish and know how to aim it to hit your required satellites. Lot's of RVers use portable dishes. I can see several from my window right now!!
