Hi Paul,
I don't remember exactly how long it took. We use our MH half the year so we weren't concerned with the time. I connected an automatic charger to the batteries to keep them charged while waiting.
I called Dimensions 855 633-7257 for tech assistance and to find out how to send it. They were helpful and I'm sure can give you info on the turnaround time.
You will probably need to direct connect the a/c to get the any outlets on the inverter to work while it is gone. Ask the tech at Dimensions how to do that and he/she can explain. A couple of the wires can not be reversed when re-installing the repaired unit or it can be damaged. They will explain that too. It's not really complicated. In our case how Winnebago mounted it made the physical work tougher than the wiring trying to remount it on the side wall in the electrical bay.

I am having a hard time finding info on what the original unit was...

It's likely a 1000 watt 45 amp charging Inteli-power. Upgrade to the 65 amp. Also, Get the 3 stage Smart charging Wizard add on.

Found the info in some of the paperwork the previous owner left behind. The converter is listed as a Magnetek 7455BT. I am looking at replacing it with a Progressive Dynamics PD9260CV Inteli-Power 9200 Series 60 Amp Converter/Charger with Built-in Charge Wizard. Any comments on this choice?
I need to measure my available space as the new one is 7" tall and the original one was around 4.3" tall.

Should work as long as you have the room. In remembering, I think that's the one I used to replace mine in my previous Winnebago. I really liked the 3 stage charging option.
Just make sure it's not just 3 stage capable. If I remember correctly, the one I bought a few years ago needed the charging wizard remote add on as an extra. Just check. It's a small plug in remote that allows you to control it from a small pad. I just checked and the one you mention is a 4 stage! Even better. It says it comes with the remote pendant for manual operation as well. Obviously they have upgraded the unit.

You can't get any better than a PD9200.

Excellent choice!
Sure hope you have the room plus make sure there is plenty of ventilation for the heat to dissipate.

Well, I had a chance to get to the storage yard today and measure the available height under the drawer where the current inverter/charger unit sits. I have a hair less than 5 inches in height. The Progressive unit I was going to go with is 7" tall. Does anyone know of a good unit that is less than 5 inches tall?

The dimensions of the PD 9260C on their WEB site are
Dimensions: 3.6" x 8" x 9"
It is only 3.6" tall. I put that same one in my 2003 Adventurer with room to spare.

The one you purchased doesn't come with the remote charging wizard pendant. Make sure you order it so that you can control the smart charger. Here is a link to the add on.
