Refrigerator warranty

Hello,
During our PDI when taking delivery on our new 2108 DS, the tech did not recommend running fridge on propane during travel due to, if fridge develops an issue, like burning out, Dometic will be able to tell if problem developed while traveling on propane and will void warranty.

I’ve used propane while traveling for over 25 years of rving and never heard of this. I am aware of times it needs to be off for safety reasons.

Thread not intended to start a big fight on propane on or off while traveling, just curious about the “void” warranty by Dometic and if anyone has ever heard of this before.

From their warranty:

; (d) failure to follow Sellers instructions for use of product; (e) any accident to or misuse of any part of this product and any alteration by anyone other than the Seller or its authorized representative; (f) any non-Dometic parts that are installed as replacement parts will void any warranty (implied or written); (g) blow out condition

Don't stress it. If you are used to running propane, continue. That tech is going waaaaaay out on a limb giving you that kind of instruction.
