Lens

If it is a standard lens, they are easily available at your RV dealer.

I replaced our blub with one of these.

8x White T10 BA9S 48 LED SMD Dome Car Panel Interior Reading Lamp Light Bulbs | eBay

VERY Low heat, low amps draw and won't burn out the filament if you leave it on all the time!

Why not just replace the whole fixture with one with a motion sensor? I did and it's great

Didn't quite a few on this forum change their OEM porch light to the StarLight Smart Light? I thought there was a thread on them here some time back.

Smart Light 1000 - Star Lights, Inc.

DITTO
This is the way to go. The 200 Lumen (included) is as bright as the stock lamp.

That's what we went with. We didn't buy the whole thing. Just bought the revolution LED bulb and swapped out the old one. Runs completely cool and much brighter. Also uses ~1/10 of the power.

We also recommend the Smart Light 1000 from Starlights.

A bit pricey, but the LED bulb is brighter than the standard 1151 incandescent, and the motion sensor feature allows you to have security without annoying your campground neighbors, plus the (expensive) bulb is bound to last more than twice as long since its not burning all night.

If the lens melts, it likely has the wrong bulb in it. I think what mine was supposed to have was a 9017. I bought a new lens at an RV parts store and later replaced the bulb with the Revolution led for much better light.

What Paul said, only in my case the Revolution came from a Smart Light that unfortunately did not fit between the awning support and the door. I have since bought a replacement Revolution bulb for the Smart Light and I am looking for a suitable place to mount it that lights the "patio" area of a campsite.

I really like the Revolution 200 LED.

And there are 2 levels up from the 200. I have a 300 with an Amber lens which really takes the harshness out and is still brighter than a 200, even with the filter.

And there's a 400 above that....

I started with a Revolution 300, and went through two of them in about two months ...the first just quit the first time it was left on very long, and the second melted the base of the bulb from internal heat. The vendor said they were having lots of problems with the 300 so the second time replaced it with a 200. That was in 2010, so maybe they figured out the problem and got the 300 working reliably. I have a 200 in the outside lights on both sides of the coach.

Yes, there are cheaper options if you don't want the motion detector feature which is actually kind of neat.

Like others have been saying, you can go with the Evolution 200 which from the Star Light site is $27.49 ...it's an LED bulb which will definitely not melt your plastic cover because it generates practically no heat. It also uses far less electricity and will last much, much longer than an incandescent bulb.

If that's too expensive, as AFChap pointed out, just use the correct wattage incandescent bulb (a lower wattage than you had that made the cover melt) which will cost less than $5. More than likely, the owner before you may have wanted to have more light and upped the wattage on the bulb. My original bulb that Winnebago put in never melted my cover (but maybe I was just lucky *shrugs shoulders*).

I would encourage you to shop around for the Starlight 1000 since you are likely to find it for ~$50, and that includes the $25 Starlight 200 LED lamp. That makes the exact same fixture I paid almost $100 WITHOUT THE LED LAMP, several years ago now cost $25. Hellofa deal IMO
