Personel Computer Use on RV Inverter?

Have a small footprint Dell computer in my Navion RV. Seems to work OK on shore power with a surge protector. I am concerned about running it on non-sinusoidal inverter power. I use the TV as a display and it runs on AC surge protector as well. The TV works OK on the inverter. Any suggestions from experienced PC users?

We run them on inverter power all the time. No problems yet anyway.

We have run our different laptops for years on Modified Sine Wave inverters w/o problems.

If your computer power cord has a box between the AC plug and the plug on the computer, this is a converter unit. It changes the AC to a DC value your computer uses. It probably will work on ANY AC input, 110 to 230 volts, 50 or 60 cycle, so an inverter's output will work fine. The box will have lists of input-acceptable ranges printed on it. It will also list the DC voltage and amperage output your computer uses.

X2 it will be fine on a non sine wave inverter. The AC to DC converter box may run slightly warmer than on pure sine wave power but not dangerously so.

If the power block is reducing the voltage down to, for example 16vdc, then get a converter cable like this .

I know that the link is in the UK where we live, but you must have something similar somewhere, just watch the wattage.
