I need to replace my pair of house batteries on 2005 coach. Plan to replace 12 volts with two 6 volt golf car batteries. My local choices so far are...Batteries Plus has Trogen T 105,s for $193.48 OR Excide for $104.99. Interstate distributer has U 2200 for $95.00. I am having trouble seeing where the 105,s are worth twice the money. Thanks in advance for any and all advice.

If you have access to Sam's club, I bought Exide's for about $60 each. I bought four of them. If you have space, you might consider going to four.

bruceh....Thanks for the reminder. I forgot all about sam,s club. I will check them out this weekend. They may in fact be my best choice. You are also correct, I should take a measurement and see if I can fit four in my battery box.

Trojan has a very good reputation and I think they have a better pedigree than Exide. In the price class of the Trojans are my favorite Lifeline AGM batteries - a significantly better battery in several metrics.

Don't get too hung up on price unless it is necessary to go with less expensive battery. My caveat for you is to remember that you get what you pay for.

There have been extensive battery discussions in the prior months - do a forum search.

John... You make a good point. Since I plan to buy retirement coach in five years I may be better off buying a good set in hopes they will last five years. Will likely end up buying two sets otherwise. With the rapid price increase that may be the better move. Thanks John, you always offer good input.

I would cheerfully acknowledge that the Trojans are better. Are they 3 1/2 times better?

So instead of replacing your house batteries every 2-4 years, you might go 4-7 (or longer) years.

I do however submit that Lifeline AGMs are absolutely worth three or four times the price of an 80 dollar Exide. I'm not going to repeat my AGM mantra again - do a forum search for AGM and read away.

In my area the Trojan T105 was out of the question. They had to be ordered and were very high priced.

I have two Interstate U2300 batteries in my MH. When I bought them two years ago they told me that they were phasing out the U2200. They had a pallet of the U2300 and no U2200's so that is why I ended up with the U2300. The U2300 has a slightly higher amp hour capacity than the U2200 and slightly different terminals. Physical dimension are the same between the two. I paid $74 each plus tax two years ago. If you go with Interstate tell them where you work and they might give you a discount. That's how it worked for me. Been very happy with them so far and no reason to have regrets.

When I get my retirement MH and then need to replace the batteries then I will probably go with AGM's but for now the U2300's serve my purposes well. With any luck I will have a retirement MH before these go bad. Good luck in what ever you do.

I got 6v 105 Trojans from a local golf cart repair shop for about $65 each. However, this was about four years ago....
