Mystery switch warrior

I have a switch by my front door that doesn't go to any thing that I can tell. I thought it might be a switch for interior lights but nope! Not for porch light either because my rv never had one. Any one have a clue what it might be for?

I'm not saying I'll be able to identify the switch, but before anyone on here can, they'll need to know more information. What kind of RV, year, make, model, etc... Also, if you could provide a picture of the mystery switch, that would probably be helpful too. Hope the mystery gets solved.

My rig has a ceiling light switch at the door. Only problem with it is that the controlled fixture is a standard one, looks like all the others, and it also has a switch on it. If that switch is "off" you can flip the switch at the door all day and nothing will happen. That being the case, we never use the door switch!

Or, maybe it is there just in case you add a porch light some day.

You could also check it with a meter and see if 12v is getting to it. If not, nothing would happen when you flip it!

Had the same thing in our Dolphin, turned out to be the switch for the bay lights on that side.

Can't speak for Winnebago, but my Prime Time has a switch that turns on a vent fan and ceiling light. They also both have their own switches, which was confusing initially.

Possibly the master switch for your basement storage interior lights.

Here is the missing info you requested. It is a 1995 Winne Warrior 28' GM.

I have the wiring diagrams for the body and it doesn't show any switch near there, nor does the manual mention it. There has never been an awning on the vehicle and there had never been a porch light. I have never noticed any basement lights. I thought I had looked in there pretty well, but now I need to look again! There is no electric step (or wiring) because at first I thought it might be a step override but nope...

What has got me started looking at stuff is I am having a coach battery discharge problem. New battery and was working before new engine. All of the AUX START wiring looks right, so it should keep charged while plugged to shore at the house. 12V is working while plugged in, but boondocking is a no-go.

You mentioned Coach Battery discharge problem when hooked up on Shore Power. If you are talking about the chassis or engine battery and NOT the House battery, then yes it will discharge if you are running anything form it while plugged in and or boon docking because it does not normally get charged except when the engine is running.
Now the House battery should charge when plugged in unless you have flipped the switch that isolates it. But even then it should maintain a charge and you not be able to Boon Dock because it is isolated and you won't have in DC voltage to run anything.
Now being that yours is a much older MH anything could be possible because could be wired all bass ackwards

And I'm going to guess it's the "lounge ceiling lamp switch" shown on page 2 of the Body Wiring Diagram

tderonne... THANK YOU SO MUCH! I bet that I have looked at those same two pages a million times and just didn't see it. I will be giving that a try today to see if that is what it does.
