Melting ground at pedestal ?

After a month could not hardly get plug out of pedestal! Was this heat from a bad pedestal? Or some kind of draw from my rig?

Do you have a fixed or portable EMS (surge protector) you could test the pedestal with?

I'd guess the power at the pedestal, and that your EMS did it's job.
I'd try contacting the EMS manufacturer, or google it, and see if it's happened to anyone else before. What brand is it? I guess there was no error code on the EMS?

Could be a bad connection inside the pedestal. If the spring contacts lack tension or are previously burned then the connector will get hot.

It would help if you put what rig you have in your signature line so we could know if you are 30 amp or 50 amp.

If you are 50 amp and the RV park is not wired with a 2 phase AC power to the pedestal then when you run very heavy loads, like 2 A/C's with a elect water heater or oven or microwave, you over load the ground return lead. If you have a volt meter, measure across the 2 hot legs at the power pedestal. If a 2 phase system you will read 220-240 volts. If a single phase system then you would read zero across the 2 hot leads, and 120V from each hot to ground.

Sounds like dirty spades on your end of the plug, causes a bad connection and produces enough heat to fuse the metal together. I've had the rubber covering melt once. Make sure you clean those spades well with a wire brush or sand them clean. A spray of silicone on them will help for removal.
