Leak problem...

Please forgive our lack of knowledge. We are brand new motorhomers. We just purchased a 2000 Winnebago Chieftain 35U, and are trying to get it set up. Today, we tried to hook up the water hose. The passenger front bay where the water pump is, has a water leak. We can't figure out what this is, or how to stop it. I'm posting a pic of where it's leaking from.....and hoping someone can help us get it straightened out. We're hoping this is our only "issue". It's parked in our seasonal campground lot right now, but we're hoping to take a short trip in a week or so. Thank you soooo much in advance.

You may have to replace that part.
It looks like a manifold. Do you think it could have froze?

I'm not sure what I'm looking at but where you have the line drawn on your photo you can see the crack in the black plastic and also a repair attempt by someone. The use of screw clamps are not typically used in RV water lines nor are brass 1/4 turn valves. Most valves are plastic. Not saying it won't work, just not typical. Repair of old brittle plastic components is usually replacement. Hopefully someone else will come along and be able to identify and name the broken piece.

Thanks guys!! We just don't know what to tell someone we need! The only repair shop near us is booked up 3 weeks. There may be no camping for us for a while! :(

It looks like an easy fix if you find the part. Someone will chime in here with the link to the part.

Are those power ( 12v white) wires running to the top of the valve ?
Not sure what it does , but looks like 5 mins. would have it removed so you could take it to an RV parts store.

If you check http://www.winnebagoind.com/diagram/...l35u_plumb.pdf that is the link for the plumbing diagram for your unit. I didn't check it carefully, but hopefully you will find the part there.

Use this link for a parts list for your unit http://www.winnebagoind.com/service/...00/0wfl35u.pdf

Both of these, and many more can be found on the Winnebago site under resources. Hope these are of some help.

That "manifold" was used in certain winny's of that era that would allow you to hit a button to put your water heater into "bypass" mode when winterizing the coach. So that manifold block is merely an electrically powered bypass valve - which has most likely failed so the previous owner has cut the lines and installed a manual bypass valve. If you look around in the coach you'll most likely find a switch to operate that valve, it could be labeled "winterize" or heater bypass.

The electric valve is still available if you'd like to keep the OEM functionality, thus you could eliminate the manual valve, or you can completely remove the valve and simply install unions to re-join the flow path and retain the manual valve as shown in your picture.
