Using suggestions and photos from several on the forum, I made a laptop pedestal using some oak and RAM hardware. Haven't installed in coach yet...still pondering improvements. It seems pretty sturdy.

Has anyone used the one from e-bay? It seems so simply that it may just be the ticket. I ordered one...the price was just to tempting...

Reminds me of the baby that was so ugly that, when it was born, the Doctor slapped the mother ;< I don't care how "sturdy" it is, black pipe and fittings belong under the coach, not in it...at least in my coach. I like the look of the Jotto desk much better, but appreciate all the input on this. I'm still pondering how best to use my laptop with Microsoft Streets & Trips after buying a DP, when I had started out looking at gas units. One thing I liked about the gas was the "computer desks" that so many included on the passenger side. Very cool use of space.

smlranger's mount looks pretty nice. The "thing" from Mobile Laptop Mount looks like something I would cobble up with some leftover plumbing parts with a very bad hangover as an object of conversation. Why install something like that in a 100-250K$ coach?
Yes - that mother of that ugly 'baby' ought to be slapped into the next county ;-)
My Jotto Desk is very well engineered, perhaps too much (read expensive) for occasional use, but it will last as long as me

I will take a few pics of the gizmo now that it is mounted in the coach. It has passed the DW test...her comment was, 'that doesn't look bad at all.'
My laptop is a bit heavy (7 lbs.) so I'm curious if there will be noticable wobble when underway, especially on less-than-smooth roads. I have yet to move the coach since installation...
