House batteries

2013 Cambria 27k when setting up camp the house battery switch is inop. Using shore power all ok except one place monitor is blank/inop and no power to generator. Anyone know of a fuse/cb anywhere unusual that might be causing this. Worked fine before hooking up at campsite.

Hi,

Please provide more details than you have about what you are experiencing.

Are you saying you have no 12 volt battery power to lights and fans before you plugged in at the campsite?
What is your house battery voltage when not plugged in?
When you say no power to generator, does that mean you can not start it? Did you try to start it after you plugged in or when the engine is running?

If your house battery voltage is very low, it may cause both these issues. When you plug in, your converter is providing the power.

No 12v power from house batteriies. Shorepower connected and works fine. No voltage reading since the monitor (one place) is blank, assume it runs off house batteries. Can't start generator since one place monitor inop. No obvious cbs/fuses tripped/blown. Chassis battery ok.

Check house battery disconect/store switch. Usually at entrance steps. May have been shut off by mistake.

Good luck

Nope. That was the obvious choice. Not the problem unless the switch is bad. Would be a sudden change.

Ok. Now how about a voltage test of the house battery? Before you set up camp you were running your engine, correct? The house battery may not be taking a charge through the charge relay while you are driving. Do you have an AUX BATT Start switch? I bet that is dead also.

I suggest that you go to the "User CP" at the upper left of this page. Scroll down the page and find "Settings and Options" in the black bar. In the box below is "Edit Signature". This is where you can post the good stuff about you and your rig and it will show at the end of your postings. It just makes helping you a bit easier and we all get a chance to know you a bit better.
By the way, :welcome:.

A cheap meter is always a good tool to have on board. Hope that 12V situation doesn't dampen your camping time. Another thought I just had. Ask a camping neighbor if they have a meter. It only takes a few minutes out of your fun time. But, I like the fun over work priority thinking my self.

Happy trails,
Rick Y
