Thanks, </div></BLOCKQUOTE>Hi Ken - thanks for the kind remarks!

I like Xantrex products because the company has been around for years and they are the dominant player in the market. They have the resources to do a good job of R&D and manufacturing. Enough gushing about the company.

The Echo~Charge is a quantum leap over a jumper wire and a fuse (connecting the battery banks together) - to me it looks like an intelligent charge controller which is using the house battery bank as the power source. Read about it here.

Welcome to the forums Ken!

John,

The Echo-charge looks like it will work well when connected to shore power or the generator is running.

Question: Will it rob power from the coach batteries when in storage and no external power?

So no, it will not be pulling power from the house batteries unless they are being charged somehow.

This thing has intelligence

John,

I read the product info and the online manual. I'm sold - will be ordering one this weekend. Thanks for the welcome to the forum. I've been around for quite a while on the RV.NET forums but traded my National RV Dolphin for an 05 Journey earlier this year and like the Winnebago specific info on this fourm so people will be seeing a lot more of me here. A lot of what I read here helped me decide on the Journey. I confess I read all your posts on your purchase/delivery process with great interest. Thanks again for the echo-charge info.
