Electrical Plug under steering wheel

I'm trying to find what is needed to connect a trailer controller and finding many wires that I don't know what they are. If you can help I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
Here are two pictures of one plug with a cover cap.
The cap is "Giakon 8410 Series - Freightliner #A06-25705-001 REV and it cover the black plug.

You don't say what year chassis, but it looks like an original OBD (On Board Diagnostics) jack to me. The newer OBDII jack is different.

That is the OBD.

You should be looking for the 6 pin rectangular connector as shown in your other post. They can be hard to find in all of the other wires under the dash, but it is there. It may even have a tag on it.

Give Winnie a call.

I can email you photos and wiring info if you PM me an address.

I pulled a trailer controller out of mine since I would never use it. It only had a blue wire that was run clear back to the back of the RV. Obviously put in by an installer, not the factory. It picked up a 12 volt hot and ground under the dash. No pre-wired trailer controller setup.

I still have the controller if anyone wants it.

As rgvtexan said, that's the OBD.

Uhaul told me the same. If I don't have a plug a blue wire would have to be ran up to the front. Thanks it looks like that is what I'll have to do. But I will get under the dash one more time (ha ha) and look for that plug. I know I'll be under there many more time because there are so many plugs not connected to anything and I'll want to determine where they go.

kimenker-

A 2009 coach such as yours will have the plug.

I replied to your other thread with more information here.

That plug is functionally the diesel equivalent to an OBD connector in an automobile. It outputs J1939 data which you can use in conjunction with a Scangauge-D - or other device - to view many diesel parameters not available on a Freightliner dash. It also provides 12v to power such a device. I have used one for 5+ years and it is an excellent device that also provides fault codes and the number of occurrences.
