Of course just after I bring our Adventurer back from warranty service....... I find the electric heat ;when set , tripping the house breaker.
So, to save me a 2 days of bringing it to service..where do I begin to look for the culprit?. Is the A/C unit easy to get at. how do I remove that grille

Wally, they said my new "job" as moderator would be tough, but geez!!

At the risk of "not knowing where to start",as well as getting a good laugh myself,I'll leave well enough alone!!

Too much "old man winter"....you need a camping trip!!

Wally,
On my 02 (I think) Horizon, that grill panel has a couple of screws on the bottom to take out and it swings up. Don't know if yours is the same. If the heat pump keeps tripping the breaker it could be anything from a short to loose and or dirty connections. I would start with the connections. Make sure your filter(s) are clean also.

We need more info. does it trip instant or does
it run for a short time? The breaker will tip
on a short (instant) or if it is over current
by a small amount (thermo) when it gets HOT to
the touch. Check the easy stuff firts, like the
wires on the back of the breaker, etc. The older
True Air like I have 2002 are said to have a
problem with the capacitors, as there are two.
Also some commectors have given problems, as I
have read. GOOD RUCK,go forth and FIX. TENN.

Wally NJ, you say it is tripping the "house" circuit breaker. Is this your home circuit breaker and not a breaker in the coach; or vise versa? If it is the house and not the coach, please detail to us the size and type of circuit. Is the coach plugged in directly to 50,30 or 20 amp? Are you trying to run the coach off an extension cord?
If the breaker that is tripping in on the coach which one? Is it the main or the 20 amp just for the electric heat and air? Have you tried to see if the breaker will hold with the heat turned off? Is there any thing else on this circuit. Does it work when the generator is running? Let us know some of these answers and we will try to be more helpful.

Yup. we have about 10'' here in Cen NJ... getting ready to go out and fight it...
I meant the RV Circuit breaker at the top of the box..
" elect/ac",
as soon as I put it over to electric heat , it trips the 110v breaker by the side door.......we have 30 amps coming in from the house.,,,,,,haven't tried the A/C yet, have to dig my way out there!

007 Im not sure what you are asking for...........?
thanks
Ill keep you posted, doesnt look like Ill get much done over the next few days with this weather!!

Do not try to operate the air conditioner compressor. It probably would not energize anyway but it is way too cold for the oil in the system.
