I am also looking to replace my house batteries. I have pretty much narrowed it down to the MAXX-29 at a RC of 200 for $80, and a battery from CAT at $125. I am trying to get the RC on the CAT battery. Am gun shy of anything like this from Wal-Mart but the RC and the cost seem to be the better deal. The difference will be if they CAT battery does actually have a 3 year warranty vs Wal-mart's 12 full replacement and then 6 month prorated.

So who makes the batteries sold under the Wall Mart brand? Seems to me they must be identical to one of the major brands if you can break the code as to who their low bid supplier is. At their volume of sales, any supplier could still make a buck and at their price you can just about afford to throw in some new ones every two years versus three for example.

I buy batteries from walmart that have a three year free replacement guarantee and can get a free replacement almost anywhere and can simply replace them if there is any problem at all. I find this very handy

I bought new house and engine batteries before I left North Carolina in June from Sam's club. The house batteries had a dead cell in one and pulled both down. Took both to Sam's club in Bangor Maine and got full replacements. No problems. The batteries are made by Eveready. The same one that shows the Eveready Bunny on TV. I will buy all my batteries in the future from Sam's club. Al

Robert & Al,

You've had good experiences. What batteries (model) did you buy from Wal-mart and Sams? Like I said before, I am going to have to replace mine within the next month. Thanks.

Bill, I had to buy 12 Volt Group 29 batteries. I wanted to put in 6 volt golf cart batteries, but there was no way short of major work to make them fit. They seem to work fine so far. I have had good experience in other vehicles so feel that these should work out fine also. The fact that there is a Sam's club or Walmart in just about ever where I travel means a lot to. Al

I don't know the model, but get the one closest to the ones you have in specs. Just be sure to get the three year free replacement guarantee. like walmart over sam's club because of the better guarantee, but sam's usually has a better price. Just a matter of personal preferance.

Umm, does not Eveready Battery Company use their long standard Nine Lives Cat logo? The world famous pink Energizer Bunny keeps going and going and going for the Energizer Battery Battery Company

Rockhouse, Now that I think about it, you are right. My error but I still like the batteries. Thanks for jogging my brain back to reality. Al
